These unusual metal stencils consist of three rings which make up the whole alphabet and the ‘&’ symbol. Each ring sits inside the other and I would think they possibly was for a machine it would have been a bit of a pain setting up because of the different sizes .
It is still an unusual item and I personally think it looks great just as a display piece.

The largest set measures approximately:
19.5 cms at its widest and 7.7 cms high
